President Jokowi in Southeast Sulawesi for Working Visit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (30/06/2021) began his working visit to Southeast Sulawesi province.

The President and his limited entourage arrived at Haluoleo airport in South Konawe regency, Southeast Sulawesi province at 10.45 a.m. Central Indonesian Time.

The President and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Ali Mazi, Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Yan Sultra Indrajaya (Police Inspector General), and Southeast Sulawesi Military Resort Commander Jannie Aldrin Siahaan (Brigadier General).

Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said that the working visit to Southeast Sulawesi aims to ensure COVID-19 handling in the province and to inspect mass COVID-19 vaccination that takes place at Southeast Sulawesi Governor’s office yard in the provincial capital of Kendari.

Heru added that Government has set target of administering 1-2 million doses of vaccine per day; thus, mass COVID-19 continues to be intensified.

During the working visit, the Head of State is also slated to attend Southeast Sulawesi Regional Leadership Coordination Forum at Southeast Sulawesi Governor’s Office to give directives on COVID-19 handling, Micro-scale Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Mikro) implementation, and testing, tracing, treatment (3T) implementation.

Before returning to Jakarta, the President is also slate to attend the Opening of the 8th National Work Meeting of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. (Press Media and Information Bureau of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (AP/EP)
