President Jokowi in West Java for Working Visit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (11/8) began his West Java working visit.

The Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1 that carried the President and his entourage arrived at Husein Sastranegara Air Force Base in the provincial capital of Bandung.

During the working visit time, the President is scheduled to visit COVID-19 Mitigation and Control Post at the Kodam III/Siliwangi headquarters and give directions via video conference for the integrated COVID-19 mitigation in the province at the post.

The Head of State is also slated to visit state-owned pharmaceutical company PT Bio Farma to review the COVID-19 vaccine production facility and review the implementation of phase three of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Eyckman Building run by the Clinical Trial Research Team from Faculty of Medicine, Padjajaran University.

For the record, the Government has announced that state-owned pharmaceutical company Bio Farma is ready to produce 250 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine per year by the end of this year.

According to Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir – who also helms the COVID-19 Mitigation and National Economic Recovery Working Committee – the company is also ready to hold phase three of clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccine candidates developed in partnership with private Chinese biopharmaceutical firm Sinovac Biotech.
