President Jokowi Inaugurates 12 Indonesian Ambassadors to Friendly Countries

President Joko “Jokowi“ Widodo inaugurated 12 Indonesian Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to friendly countries at the State Palace in Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon (17/11).

The inauguration of the 12 Indonesian Ambassadors is based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 139/P of 2021 on The Appointment of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Decree, read out by Deputy for Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Nanik Purwanti, was stipulated on 16 November 2021.

After the decree was read out, the Head of State later led the inaugurated Ambassadors to take their oaths.

“I do solemnly swear that to be appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, I will be faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and will carry out all laws and regulations correctly for the sake of my service to the nation and the state. That in carrying out my duties, I will highly uphold the ethics of my office, work to the best of my ability, with a full sense of responsibility. That I will faithfully carry out all the orders and instructions given by the Central Government and I will faithfully fulfill all the obligations borne to me as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary,” President Jokowi dictated the oath of the Ambassadors.

The newly-inaugurated name of the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary are as follows:

  1. M. Prakosa, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Italian Republic accredited to the Republic of Malta, Republic of San Marino, Republic of Cyprus, FAO, IFAD, WFP, UNINDROIT, residing in Rome;
  2. Ghafur Akbar Dharmaputra, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Ukraine accredited to Republic of Armenia and Georgia, residing in Kiev;
  3. Suwartini Wirta, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Croatia residing in Zagreb;
  4. Rudy Alfonso, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Portuguese Republic residing in Lisbon;
  5. Anita L. Luhulima, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Poland residing in Warsaw;
  6. Zuhairi Misrawi, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Tunisia residing in Tunis;
  7. Ina Krisnamurti, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of India accredited to the Kingdom of Bhutan, residing in New Delhi;
  8. Heru Subolo, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh accredited to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, residing in Dhaka;
  9. Daniel Tumpal Simanjuntak, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Canada accredited to ICAO, residing in Ottawa;
  10. Damos Agusman, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Austria accredited to the Republic of Slovenia and UN organizations (UNODC, UNCITRAL, UNOSA, UNIDO, IAEA, CBTO, OPEC Fund, and IACA), residing in Vienna;
  11. Gandi Sulistiyanto Suherman, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea residing in Seoul; and
  12. Triyogo Jatmiko, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Republic of Tanzania accredited to the Republic of Burundi and Republic of Rwanda, residing in Dar es Salaam.

Also attending the inauguration were Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin accompanied by Ibu Wury Ma’ruf Amin, the fifth Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri, Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD.
