President Jokowi Inaugurates Chiefs of Staff of Navy and Air Force

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated new Chiefs of Staff of the Navy and Air Force at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/5).

The inauguration ceremony was begun with reverberation of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and followed by recitation of Presidential Decree Number 32 and 33/TNI/ 2020 on the Dismissal and Appointment of Chief of Staff of the Navy and Chief of Staff of the Air Force, as well as Presidential Decree Number 34 and 35/TNI/ 2020 on the Promotion of High-Ranking Officers at the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI).

“To appoint Vice Admiral Yudo Margono NRP.9168P as the Chief of Staff of the Navy and upgrade his rank by one level to Admiral, as well as to appoint Air Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo NRP.512635 as the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and upgrade his rank by one level to Air Chief Marshal,” the Presidential Decree reads.

The Presidential Decree, which was promulgated by President Jokowi in Jakarta on 18 May 2020, shall take effect as of the date of the inauguration.

Afterwards, the chiefs took oath of office before President Jokowi and signed the inauguration ceremony minutes.

Also attending the event were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto. (FID/EN)
