President Jokowi Inaugurates Cigombong-Cibadak Segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (08/04) inaugurated Cigombong-Cibadak segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road.

The inauguration of the 11.9-kilometer-long toll road segment took place at Parungkuda toll gate in Sukabumi regency, West Java province.

“Thank God, today the [construction of] 11.9-kilometer-long Cigombong-Cibadak segment of Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road is finished and it is ready to operate. The segment [construction] used a budget of Rp3.2 trillion,” the President said in his opening remarks while expressing hope that the toll road segment can shorten the traveling time from Jakarta to Sukabumi.

“If we go to Pelabuhanratu, to Ciletuh, to Ujung Genteng, to Mount Gede, which used to take 5 hours, sometimes 6 hours from Jakarta to Sukabumi, it will only take 2.5 hours with this toll road,” he said.

Furthermore, the President stated that the infrastructure will increase the mobility of people and goods, which will affect opportunities of investment in West Java province.

“From a survey taken by investors, why is West Java province on the first place for investment? The first reason is West Java province has the most toll roads that have been constructed,” he said. (DND/UN) (DH/LW)
