President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (09/22) led the groundbreaking ceremony of Abdi Waluyo Hospital, the first hospital built in Indonesia’s new capital of Nusantara, in North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

Alhamdulillah, this morning we will start the groundbreaking ceremony of the first hospital in Nusantara Capital. We carried out one for a hotel yesterday and the PSSI training center this morning. Now we will conduct one for Abdi Waluyo Nusantara Hospital,” he said.

The President also expressed appreciation for the Rp2 trillion investment in the construction of the hospital, which is planned to contain around 400 treatment rooms and cater for subspecialty care.

“It is not a public hospital but subspecialty,” he said while expressing hope that the hospital can attract people not only in Nusantara Capital area but also from all over Indonesia and even the world. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (SI/DH)
