President Jokowi Inaugurates Five New Ambassadors

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Wednesday (13/2) at the State Palace inaugurated five new Indonesian ambassadors to friendly countries.

This inauguration is held based on Presidential Decree Number 17/P of 2019 on the Appointment of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia stipulated in Jakarta, 12 February 2019.

The five newly appointed ambassadors are as follows:

  1. Andriana Supandi, M.A., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea with concurrent accreditation to the Solomon Islands, residing in Port Moresby;
  2. Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha, M.A., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia with concurrent accreditation to Montenegro, residing in Beograd;
  3. H. Hasrul Azwar, M.M., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Morocco with concurrent accreditation to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, residing in Rabat;
  4. Berlian Napitupulu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, residing in Pyongyang; and
  5. Kenssy Dwi Ekaningsih, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Czech Republic, residing in Prague.

The newly appointed Ambassadors then took their oaths of office and signed the minutes of inauguration.

After the ceremony, President Jokowi, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana, and Vice President Jusuf Kalla, accompanied by Ibu Mufidah Kalla, congratulated the newly-inaugurated ambassadors.

Also attending the event were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, and Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti.
