President Jokowi Inaugurates Governors, Deputy Governors of N. Kalimantan, N. Sulawesi

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (15/2) inaugurated Zainal Arifin Paliwang and Yansen T.P. as Governor and Deputy Governors of North Kalimantan, and Olly Dondokambey and Steven O.E. Kandouw as Governor and Deputy Governors of North Sulawesi for 2021-2024 period.

Before the inauguration ceremony, President Jokowi handed over Presidential Decrees to the two pairs at the Merdeka Palace. Afterwards, the President accompanied by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, walked along with the pairs to the State Palace.

The inauguration ceremony was begun with reverberation of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and followed by recitation of Presidential Decree Number 19P of 2021 on the Appointment of Governor and Deputy Governor of North Kalimantan for 2021-2024 Period and Presidential Decree Number 21P of 2021 on the Appointment of Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi for 2021-2024 Period.

Afterwards, Zainal Arifin Paliwang and Yansen T.P. pair took oath of office as Governor and Deputy Governor of North Kalimantan, and Olly Dondokambey and Steven O.E. Kandouw pair took oath of office as Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi before President Jokowi.

“I do solemnly swear by God to do the utmost in carrying out all responsibilities as governor/deputy governor, to uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia by all means, and to execute all laws and regulations in the fairest way possible and dedicate myself to the service of the people, the state, and the nation,” President Jokowi recited the oath to be repeated by the newly-inaugurated governors and deputy governors.
