President Jokowi Inaugurates Hospitals, Palaces in Nusantara

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Friday (10/11) paid a working visit to the new capital of Nusantara in East Kalimantan province to inaugurate hospitals and Presidential Palaces.

The Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 carrying the President and his entourage took off from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta at 07 a.m Western Indonesia Time.

Upon arrival at Nusantara Airport, the President headed for Hermina Nusantara hospital and inaugurated the hospital.

In his remarks, President Jokowi applauded the completion of the hospital construction in the period of ten months.

“Now we have three patients being treated here,” the President said, adding that health facilities in Nusantara are important for civil servants and their families.

The President added that other facilities such as apartments and offices for the civil servants were almost complete and would be ready to use in November 2024, while other facilities including schools, would be built immediately.

In the meantime, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana stated that President Jokowi was also slated to attend the 2024 Kompas 100 CEO Forum, inaugurate the Garuda Palace and the Nusantara State Palace, and inaugurate Mayapada Hospital Nusantara.
