President Jokowi inaugurates four infrastructure projects in Bandung, West Java province, Sunday (03/05).

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Sunday (03/05) inaugurated four infrastructure projects in Bandung, West Java province.

The four infrastructure projects were Andir retention basin, Cieunteung retention basin, and Cisangkuy floodway in Bandung regency as well as Kopo flyover in Bandung city.

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I inaugurate Andir retention basin, Cieunteung retention basin, and Cisangkuy floodway in Bandung regency, and Kopo flyover in Bandung city, West Java province,” the President said during the inauguration ceremony at Andir retention basin.

According to the President, Andir retention basin, Cieunteung retention basin, and Cisangkuy retention basin had a function as flood controllers with a budget of Rp142 billion, Rp204 billion and Rp632 billion respectively. In the meantime, the Kopo flyover is expected to unravel congestion in the city of Bandung. The project spent a budget of Rp288 billion.

For the record, Cieunteung retention basin has an area of 4.7 hectares and a capacity of 190,000 cubic meters. The retention basin is equipped with 4 pumps with a total capacity of 12 cubic meters of water per second. Andir retention basin has an area of 3.4 hectares with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters. The retention basin is equipped with 3 pumps with a total capacity of 1.5 cubic meters of water per second. The Cisangkuy floodway has a length of 5.45 kilometers and can carry a flood discharge of 230 cubic meters per second. The three infrastructure projects are projected to reduce 81 percent of inundation in Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot areas. (TGH/UN) (RI/MMB)
