President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (03/14) inaugurated the Labuan Bajo-Golo Mori access road in West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara province.

“This morning we see that the road from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori has been completed. This will improve connectivity to develop Labuan Bajo as a super priority tourist destination,” the President said in his remarks.

According to the President, the road connecting Labuan Bajo and Golo Mori will support the development of Labuan Bajo and the surrounding areas.

For the record, the 25-kilometer access road was constructed with a budget of Rp481 billion.

In the meantime, Head of the Office for National Road Management (BPJN) of East Nusa Tenggara Agustinus Junianto explained that several bridges were also built along with the access road, with a total length of 175 meters.

“Along with the construction of the road, we also build four bridges, namely the Naganae Bridge, the Wae Mburak Bridge, the Wae Kenari Bridge, and the Soknar Bridge,” he said.

Agustinus further said that the access road could reduce the travel time from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori.

“Previously, the travel time from Labuan Bajo to Golo Mori was about two to three hours, now it’s only 30 minutes,” he remarked.
