President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated Vice Admiral Siwi Sukma Adji as Navy Chief of Staff (KSAL) and Sunarto as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (MA) for Non-Judicial Affairs at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (23/5).

Siwi Sukma Adji was born in Cimahi on 14 May 1962. He previously served as Commander General (Danjen) of the TNI Academy. He was installed to replace Admiral Ade Supandi, who will retire on 1 June. The President has upgraded the rank of Siwi Sukma Adji to Admiral through Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 44 / TNI / 2018.

On the occasion, President Jokowi also inaugurated Supreme Court Justice Sunarto as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for Non-Judicial Affairs through Presidential Decree Number 96 / P / 2018.

In the election at the Supreme Court last April, Sunarto defeated 9 other candidates in the first round and defeated Justice Andi Samsan Nganro on a 24-21 vote in the last round.

Also present during the inauguration were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Commander of the Indonesian National Defence Force (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Tito Karnavian, Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Yuyu Sutisna, Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Mulyono, and Speaker of the People’s Consultative Asembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan.
