President Jokowi Inaugurates New Chief of National Narcotics Agency
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (12/08) at the State Palace, Jakarta, inaugurated Insp. Gen. Marthinus Hukom as Chief of National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
The inauguration was held based on Presidential Decree Number 182/TPA of 2023 on the Dismissal from and Appointment to Main High Leadership Position in the BNN.
The Decree, which was recited by Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs Farid Utomo, shall take into effect as of the date of its stipulation on November 29, 2023.
“In the name of Allah, I do solemnly swear that I will be faithful to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will enforce the laws and regulations as truthful as possible for the sake of my devotion to the nation and the state. That in fulfilling my duties, I will uphold the work ethics in the best possible way with a full sense of responsibility. I will preserve my integrity, will not abuse my power, and will avoid misdemeanor,” the President guided Marthinus taking the oath.
The oath-taking ceremony concluded with the rendition of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya”.
Afterwards, the newly-inaugurated BNN Chief received congratulations from the President and the Vice President followed by other guests in attendance. (FID/UN) (RIF/MUR)
