As part of his working visit in East Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (12/17) inaugurated Ngawi Big Market in Ngawi regency.

“Thank God, this afternoon we could witness that [the construction of] Ngawi Big Market has been completed and is ready for public use,” President Jokowi said.

For the record, the market was transformed into a modern market with a green building concept spanning a building area of ​​15,940 square meters with 291 kiosks, 244 stalls, and 20 dry stalls.

“We hope this market can become a trading hub in Ngawi regency and must also be a push for economic mobility of people in the regency and its surroundings, as well as to accelerate economic recovery after the pandemic,” the President said.

Also joining the President during the inauguration were First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Regent of Ngawi Ony Anwar Harsono.
