President Jokowi Inaugurates Pasar Rumput Low-Cost Apartment

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, on Monday (20/09), inaugurated Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment and its market stalls and other supporting facilities in Setiabudi district, South Jakarta.

“Thank God, the Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment equipped with market stalls, public and social facilities, and parking lots. Having been built since 2016, it is now completed and ready to be utilized,” the President said.

The low-cost apartment, which was built with a budget of Rp970 billion, carries the concept of mixed-use development, a concept of an integrated area consisting of residences, shopping centers, and other supporting facilities.

In addition to 1,984 type-36 residential units on floors 4-25, this apartment is also equipped with market stalls on floors 1-2 as well as complete public and social facilities.

“The existence of a market with complete social and public facilities makes it easy for residents to carry out economic activities, such as trading and others,” he said.

This apartment, the President added, also has excellent support of public transportation routes, making it easier for residents to mobile.

The President expressed hope that the low-cost apartment can ease the burden on the community, through the provision of comfortable and affordable housing, as well as help to facilitate the productive activities of the community. The President added that this residence can also be used to accommodate people from the Ciliwung River side who are affected by the river normalization program for flood management.

After his remarks, he signed an inscription marking the inauguration of the apartment as well as its supporting facilities. (TGH/UN) (FI/LW)
