President Jokowi Inaugurates Pasir Gintung Market in Bandar Lampung
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (08/26/2024) inaugurated the revitalized Pasir Gintung Market in Bandar Lampung city, Lampung province.
This revitalization project costs Rp38 billion.
In his remarks, President Jokowi explained that this market revitalization was spurred by complaints from traders and the public regarding the market’s inadequate facilities and its poor conditions.
“Many traders, especially woman traders, complained, ‘Sir, the market is messy,’ ‘Sir, the market is dirty,’ ‘Sir, the market is not well organized.’ So, I gave the instruction to revitalize Pasir Gintung Market,” said the President, also emphasizing that a lively market serves as an indication that the economy in a province is running well.
Ending his remarks, the President gave instruction to keep the revitalized market neat and clean.
“This market was built at a cost of Rp38 billion, which is not a small amount of money. So, I order the Mayor and all traders here to maintain the market as well as possible so that it remains neat and clean,” concluded the President. (KS/DNS) (TM/EP)
