President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (27/7) at the State Palace inaugurated Isdianto as Governor of Riau Islands Province for the remaining term of 2016-2021.

The ceremony began at the Merdeka Palace with the handover of Presidential Decree excerpt from the President to Isdianto. Afterwards, the President, the Vice President, Minister of Home affairs and Isdianto marched to the State Palace.

The inauguration began by reverberating the national anthem Indonesia Raya and was followed by the reading of Presidential Decree Number 71/P of 2020 on the appointment of the Governor of Riau Islands (H. Isdianto, S. Sos, M.M) for the remaining term of 2016-2021, and oath of office ceremony.

The ceremony was then followed by reverberating Indonesia Raya, photo session, and congratulatory messages conveyed by the President and the invited guests.

Also present during the event were, among others, Vice President KH. Ma’ruf Amin, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian. (HIM/EN)
