President Jokowi Inaugurates Roads, Bridge in E. Kalimantan Province

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (03/01) in North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province inaugurated 10 road segments and a bridge in the province with a total length of 50.9 kilometers.

The inauguration marked the implementation of Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2023 on Acceleration of Regional Road Connectivity Improvement.

“Ten road segments and a bridge in East Kalimantan province with a total length of 50.9 kilometers have been built with a budget of Rp561 billion,” the President said.

The regional road segments and bridge are as follows:

  1. Riko – Maridan road segment in North Penajam Paser regency with a length of 6.5 kilometers and a budget of Rp44.7 billion;
  2. Access to Batu Tapak Raja Cave in North Penajam Paser regency with a length of 9.6 kilometers and a budget of Rp91.3 billion;
  3. Bridge to Batu Tapak Raja Cave in North Penajam Paser regency with a length of 20 meters and a budget of Rp8 billion;
  4. Loleng road segment in Kutai Kartanegara regency with a length of 2.5 kilometers and a budget of Rp26.1 billion;
  5. Batu – Labuan intersection in Paser regency with a length of 5.8 kilometers and a budget of Rp50.2 billion;
  6. Tanjung Isuy – Tanjung Jan – Pulau Lanting intersection in West Kutai regency with a length of 4.8 kilometers and a budget of Rp45.4 billion;
  7. Proklamasi road segment in Balikpapan city with a length of 2.5 kilometers and a budget of Rp43.4 billion;
  8. Access to Kenyamukan Harbor in East Kutai regency with a length of 0.65 kilometers and a budget of Rp89.4 billion;
  9. Ir. Soekarno-Hatta – M. Roem – Urip Soemohardjo road segment in Bontang city with a length of 4 kilometers and a budget of Rp54.1 billion;
  10. Lenggo – Teluk Sulaiman road segment in Berau regency with a length of 8 kilometers and a budget of Rp59.1 billion; and
  11. Long Hubung – Jalan Poros road segment in Mahakam Ulu regency with a length of 6.5 kilometers and a budget of Rp49.1 billion.

The infrastructure construction is part of the Government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting economic growth in regions. The regional roads are expected to improve transportation access, facilitate people’s mobility, and create new economic opportunities in East Kalimantan province. (TGH/UN) (DH/MMB)
