President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (01/03) inaugurated six bridges to replace the Callendar Hamilton Bridge along the northern road of Central Java province as the previous structure has exceeded their service life.

“After replacing the aging Callendar Hamilton Bridges with three new ones on the southern route of the province yesterday, this afternoon we inaugurated six bridges on the northern route to replace the Callendar Hamilton Bridge, which has been in service for over 40 years,” the President said in his remarks at Pemali Bridge, Brebes regency, Central Java province.

According to the President, the decision to replace the previous bridges was due to their unsuitability for use and the load across these bridges also continues to increase.

“A new replacement is essential to better accommodate the increasing load, ensuring swift mobility for people, goods, and logistics on these bridges,” he said.

On that occasion, the Head of State revealed that the construction costs for the six bridges amounted to Rp292 billion, contributing to a total investment of Rp705 billion.

For the record, the six bridges recently inaugurated by the President during the event include the Pemali Brebes B Bridge and the Pedes B Bridge in Brebes regency, the Kalibanger A Bridge in Semarang city, the Wonokerto IIA Bridge in Demak regency, the Juana IA Bridge in Pati regency, and the Pang I Bridge in Rembang regency.
