President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (08/26) in Bandar Lampung city, Lampung province, inaugurated the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM).

The water supply system, one of the national strategic projects in the province, has been in progress since 2020 and is intended to tackle the common challenge of providing clean water to households across the country.

“This water supply system is designed to serve around 60,000 households, which represents a substantial capacity. It was constructed with a significant budget of Rp1.38 trillion, equivalent to Rp1,380 billion,” the President said in his remarks at the inauguration.

According to the President, the water quality from this system is extremely high with a turbidity level of just 0.278 NTU, which indicates very clean water.

“This water is cleaner and better than bottled water, with an NTU (turbidity level) of 0.278 compared to Ministry of Health’s standard of 3 and bottled water’s 0.8. So, it is significantly better,” he said.

On that occasion, the President urged Mayor of Bandar Lampung Eva Dwiana and Regent of South Lampung Nanang Ermanto to promote the expansion of the SPAM connections to households, ensuring that more people can benefit from this facility.

“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon I hereby inaugurate the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) in Bandar Lampung city, Lampung province,” the President remarked. (FID/DNS) (RIF/LW)
