President Jokowi: Indonesia – Finland Cooperation on Promotion of World Peace
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received the visit President Finland Sauli Niinisto Vainamo and First Lady Jenni Hauki, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/11) afternoon. Jokowi President welcomed the visit of the President of Finland with a state ceremony, and sound off the national anthem of both countries.
After attending a welcoming ceremony, President Jokowi invited his guest, President of Finland Sauli Niinisto Vainamo to talk on the back porch Palace. Furthermore, the two Presidents of both countries met in the middle room of Presidential Palace to discuss bilateral cooperation.
In his speech, President Jokowi expects that the cooperation between RI with Finland that has lasted for 61 years could be getting better at this meeting.
“Thank you for the presence of President of Finland and the delegates. I believe this meeting will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries, both at the bilateral, regional and global level,” said President Jokowi while mentioning, good relations Indonesia and Finland had been in existence for 61 years, and hope that this relationship will get better and carry benefits to both countries.
In this meeting also conducted the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, including in the economic field, bilateral cooperation in the European Union, and world peace.
“I want to emphasize three areas of cooperation, first, increase in economic cooperation, especially energy and the digital economy, second, increase in relations between Indonesia and Finland in the context of the European Union, and third, cooperation for the promotion of world peace,” President Jokowi said.
While the President of Finland Sauli Niinisto Vainamo to thank you for the warm welcome of President Jokowi, and hope that through this meeting could be established the cooperation between the two countries.

Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Resource Rizal Ramli, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Agung, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong, and Minister of Research and Higher Education M.
