On the second day of his working visit to Central Java, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (03/10) visited Mendenrejo Market, Kradenan district, Blora regency to inspect the availability of basic commodities in the community ahead of the fasting month of Ramadan.

“We want to check if the stock is available, if the supply is available. What is the price,” the President said in a press statement.

Although located in a remote area, the President said, the prices of basic commodities such as shallots and cooking oil in Mendenrejo Market are relatively good compared to those in several other areas.

“Earlier, the price of shallots is only Rp30,000, while yesterday I saw it at Rp38,000, Rp40,000. Here, it is only Rp30,000. I see that the price of cooking oil is also good from Rp14,000 to Rp15,000. I believe that the prices are still good, even though this is a remote area,” he said.

In addition to checking the prices and availability of basic commodities, on that occasion, the Head of State also distributed social assistance to traders and communities surrounding the market.

Afterward, President Jokowi is scheduled to go to Kesongo Area, Blora regency to hand over land certificates for the people as well as Decrees of Social Forest and Land Objects for Agrarian Reform (TORA) to the recipients. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT/UN) (FI/LW)
