President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (18/3) made an impromptu visit to State Logistics Agency (Bulog) Warehouse, Jakarta to check the stock of rice.

Upon his arrival at 9 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), President Jokowi was welcomed by President Director of Bulog Budi Waseso. The President then inspected the warehouse and check the quality of rice to be distributed to the markets.

“Distribute it (the rice) immediately though market operation,” he instructed Budi Waseso.

Previously, on a press conference on Sunday (15/3), President Jokowi said that the Government has taken and continues to take necessary measures rapidly to anticipate the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic to the availability of staple food.

“The Government will ensure the availability of staple food to meet people’s demand,” the President said at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Sunday (15/3). (BPMI/EN)
