On the second day of his working visit to Bali province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (02/02) inspected the Baturiti Market in Tabanan regency to check firsthand the prices of staple food and distribute social assistance to local traders and the surrounding community.

“I went to the Baturiti Market to check the prices. The oil price remains stable at Rp15,000. Well, there is a slight increase, but it is normal,” the President said.

On that occasion, the President said that the prices of other staple food also tend to rise, including rice prices.

“The price of rice is increasing in all provinces,” he said, adding that he has ordered his Cabinet Ministers to launch market operations.

“Currently, the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) has been carrying out market operations in all provinces since early January. There is no significant change yet, but it has shown a slight decrease. We will constantly carry out large-scale market operations on the ground,” the President remarked. (RF/BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RIF/MUR)
