President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (02/24) inspected the third dose COVID-19 vaccination drive for industrial workers at PT Komatsu Indonesia, North Jakarta.

During the event, the Head of State also inspected vaccination drive in a number of industrial areas via video conference.

“I am glad that vaccination for third dose, the booster one, has started. I hope that production activity in industries/factories will not be disrupted in the future since the workers have received booster dose so the workers can give more power to the production sector,” the President said.

President Jokowi also expressed hope that the booster vaccination drive for industrial sector can be continued and carried out in other factories to protect employees from COVID-19 transmission, adding that the industrial sector can continue to keep production line running while still complying with health protocols.

“The most important thing is do not let production line in the industrial sector be disrupted. Exports must go on,” he remarked.

In the dialogue with the President, company representatives who are conducting COVID-19 vaccinations drive expressed their appreciation for the Government’s efforts to support the survival of industrial sector amidst the pandemic. The booster vaccination drive for the workers is very helpful for the factories to keep their production running.

For the record, around 200 workers in PT. Komatsu Indonesia have received booster vaccinations. The booster vaccination drive was also carried out simultaneously in 12 other locations, namely in Kabil Industrial Park Batam; Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) Jakarta; Kaltim Industrial Estate Bontang; Medan Star Industrial Estate in Medan; and Lippo Cikarang Bekasi Industrial Estate.

In addition, the booster vaccination drive was also carried out in Safe and Lock Industrial Area of Sidoarjo; Small and Medium Industrial Center of Tasikmalaya; Deltamas Industrial Estate (GIIC) Bekasi; Karawang West Java Industrial Estate; Jatengland Industrial Estate of Demak; PT. HM Sampoerna Tbk (Plant Rungkut 1) Surabaya; and PT. Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk. Solo. The number of workers who will be vaccinated in the first batch is 86,532 people. (TGH/UN) (GWH/MUR)
