President Jokowi Inspects COVID-19 Emergency Hospital in Galang Island

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (4/3) inspected the construction of an emergency hospital to treat COVID-19 patients located in Galang Island, near the industrial town of Batam in Riau Islands province.

The construction of the infectious disease observation facilities in the island is divided into a number of zones, including Zone A (Ex-Sinam Renovation) covering supporting buildings such as dormitories for medical workers, sterilization buildings, pharmaceutical buildings, nutrition buildings, laundry room, warehouses, and power houses.

Meanwhile, Zone B consists of storage facilities and supporting facilities, including isolation rooms, observation rooms, laboratories, sterilization rooms, ground water tanks, Central Gas Medical, corpse assembly process, helipad, and utility zones.

In addition, there will be exam rooms, mobile x-ray storage rooms, laboratory rooms, kitchens, clean water facilities, wastewater installation, drainage, garbage dump, and other utilities, as well as medical equipment rooms for isolation and observation. (BPMI / EN)
