President Jokowi Inspects COVID-19 Vaccination in Lampung Province

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected COVID-19 vaccination for 100 Micro, Small, and Medium-sized business players at Tanjung Karang Health Polytechnic, in South Lampung, Thursday (2/9), marking the series of his working visit to Lampung Province.

Afterward, the President visited vaccination for teachers and students held in State Senior High School SMAN 2 Bandar Lampung. For the record, the COVID-19 vaccination was also held simultaneously in some other regions in the province.

“Today, allow me to express my gratitude to the Governor and his officials in the province for organizing vaccination simultaneously at community health centers (puskesmas), schools, and correctional institutions in 16 locations,” he said.

The Head of State expressed hope that the vaccination program can be carried on in Lampung Province in order to control COVID-19 transmission.

“I call for intensified vaccination in Lampung Province so we can immediately prevent the spread of COVID-19 particularly among children and students,” he stated.

Accompanying President Jokowi in the occasion were, among others, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Governor of Lampung Arinal Djunaidi. (PRESIDENTIAL SECRETARIAT /UN) (RAS/MMB)
