President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (04/03) inspected facilities and services of Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Regional General Hospital (RSUD), in Tebo regency, Jambi province, to ensure preparedness of regional governments in improving health services to the people.

According to the President, the hospital has good and clean layout.

He went on to say that the Government will send a number of medical equipment needed by the community this year.

“We want to send CT scan unit, mammography (machines), cath lab this year so we need to ensure this hospital’s preparation since these medical machines require electricity, space, and specialist doctors who can operate them. So, I came here to ensure and I see that they are ready,” the President said.

Regarding the equal distribution of healthcare workers, President Jokowi stated that Sultan Thaha Regional General Hospital lacks cardiologists. Nevertheless, the President assured that the hospital already has adequate facilities to cover the necessary healthcare services required by the community.

“I think it is enough to cover the necessary healthcare services required by the community. If necessary, they can build more rooms since the hospital is built on a 10-hectare of land,” he added.(BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/LW)
