As part of his working visit to Jambi province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (04/03) visited Tanjung Bungur traditional market in Tebo regency to monitor food prices.

“The most important thing is that prices [of staple food here] are still affordable, especially rice” President Jokowi told the press.

The President went on to say that stocks of rice, be it from food supply and price stabilization program (SPHP) are still available.

“I noted that the price [of rice] is still affordable, comparable with prices of shallots and garlic. Everything is equal to the prices at Merangin traditional market,” he added.

On that occasion, the Head of State also greeted and took a photo with traders and the people at the market.

Wendi—one of the traders—said that he did not expect to meet President Jokowi at the market.

“I am delighted to meet the most important person in the country,” Wendi said. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/EP)
