President Jokowi Inspects Governor’s Office in West Sulawesi Province

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo continue to carry out his working visit in West Sulawesi province, Tuesday (04/23). To begin the second day of his working visit, President Jokowi inspected the Office of the Governor of West Sulawesi province which was devasted during an earthquake in 2021.

On January 15, 2021, an Mw 6.2 earthquake had hit the west coast of Sulawesi island. The West Sulawesi Governor’s office was among the buildings destroyed by the earthquake.

The Government through Ministry of Public Works and Public Housings then started to rehabilitate and reconstruct the office on August 30, 2022, and completed the construction on December 2, 2023.

After the inspection, President Jokowi proceeded to Rangas State Vocational School 1, Mamuju regency to inspect the education facilities. At the school, the President will inaugurate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of some infrastructures hit by the earthquake, and Regional Road of Presidential Instruction in West Sulawesi province.

Following that, the Head of State will head to Mamasa regency aboard Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter that will take off from the helipad of Tammajarra field, 142 Military Resort Command/Taroada. In Mamasa regency, President Jokowi will visit Mamasa’s Tumpah market and inspect the facilities and services provided by the Healthcare and Social Security Agency’s (BPJS Kesehatan) in Regional Public Hospital Kondosapata.

After carrying out his activities in Mamasa regency, President Jokowi will head back to Tampa Padang Airport, Mamuju regency, to take off to Jakarta aboard Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft.

Accompanying President Jokowi during his working visit in West Sulawesi province were, among others, Minister for Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister for Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister for Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Acting Governor of West Sulawesi province Zudan Arif Fakhrulloh.
