President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (03/27) visited Mokopido General Regional Hospital in Tolitoli regency, Central Sulawesi province.

Upon arrival, the President inspected healthcare services for BPJS national health insurance consumers and the available healthcare facilities.

Several customers of the hospital expressed appreciation for the services while also giving constructive criticisms for quality improvement.

Sukma, a BPJS patient at the hospital, gave positive feedback for the healthcare service she has received and expressed hope that the facilities be improved.

“I hope the hospital adds more facilities so that I do not have to get transferred to Palu for dialysis anymore,” she said.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Yunike, also a patient, expressed hope that the Mokopido Hospital has more facilities to optimize its services and minimize patient referrals to hospitals in other cities/regencies if emergency cases occur.

“If emergency patients get transferred, they are transferred to [hospitals in] the capital of a regency that takes approximately 12 hours of travel. If we take the 12-hour land route, the roads are extremely rough,” she said while expressing hope that there would be more medical personnel, including specialist doctors, at the type-C hospital.
