After attending The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) 2022 held in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected Indonesian Resillience House at Adexco 2022 Exhibition, at Bali Art Collection, Badung regency, Bali province, on Wednesday (05/25).

At the location, President Jokowi directly inspects a number of stands showcasing innovation in providing solution and mitigation of disaster. The President also inspects some stands showcasing local products of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, such as chocolate, snacks, souvenirs, fabrics, and soaps, and he bought some of them.

Previously, Indonesian Resillience House was inaugurated by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, on Tuesday (05/24). According to Coordinating Minister Effendy, Indonesian Resillience House can be a place for sharing knowledge and experience on disaster risk management.

“Indonesian Resillience House includes a group of activists and communities, be it social organizations or volunteers, and also philanthropists who are highly concerned with the issue of disaster risk reduction in Indonesia,” he explained it when delivering his remarks on the inauguration of the House.

Coordinating Minister Effendy also hoped that through Indonesian Resillience House, all related parties can exchange ideas, create innovation, and cooperate in dealing with disasters, both natural and non-natural disasters.

Hopefully, this meeting will be fruitful for all of us, for Indonesian communities and international ones in facing various disasters, both natural and non-natural disasters,” he said.

Accompanying President Jokowi were Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, Head of National Disaster Management Agency Suharyanto (BNPB), and Governor of Bali Wayan Koster. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat/AIT)(AW/HD)
