President Jokowi inspects the implementation of Labor Intensive Program in Dharmasraya Regency, on Wednesday (7/2)

As part of his working visits to West Sumatra Province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (7/2) inspected the implementation of Labor Intensive Program in Dharmasraya Regency.

The program includes the Accelerated Irrigation System Program (P3-TGAI) and the Stimulant Assistance for Self-Help Housing Development (Improving the Quality of Houses Categorized as Unfit for Living).

The P3-TGAI of the Regional Agency for Sumatran River V is conducted in 105 villages spread over 12 regencies in the province and involves 112,500 workers, and costs a grand total of Rp29,250,000,000 and the Stimulant Assistance for Self-Help Housing Development involving 162,500 workers covers 6,350 houses in 162 villages spread over 12 Regencies/Cities.

In Dharmasraya, Sitiung Subdistrict, 998 houses categorized as unfit for living will be renovated and it will cost Rp14.82 billion, and 32 houses in Nagari Sungai Duo, Sitiung Subdistict will cost Rp480 million. The renovation will be carried out by 800 workers.

Before the inspection, President Jokowi also distributed staple food packages including rice, cooking oil, tea, and sugar to 4,000 local residents in several locations in the regency.

Joining the President in the event were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Director General for Water Resources of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Imam Santoso, and Governor of West Sumatra Irwan Prayitno. (AGG/JAY/ES) (RAS/MUR/EP/YM/Naster)
