Ahead of MotoGP Mandalika 2022, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (01/13) inspected the facilities at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport in West Nusa Tenggara province, where the international motorcycle racing event is set to be held this year.

The airport,  which is also known as Lombok International Airport, will be used as a point of entry to the province for the participants and visitors.

The facilities the President inspected include temperature and electronic health alert card (e-HAC) checkpoint, immigration checkpoint, baggage claim area, and customs checkpoint.

“I directly checked arrivals at the airport and processes at the airport. I noticed that everything related to health protocols and PCR test verification and full vaccination verification already has a good sequence,” he said.

In the meantime, MotoGP Mandalika Field Commander Hadi Tjahjanto stated that flight frequency from several cities to Lombok will be increased to support the entrance of visitors into Lombok.

“For entrance, we will increase flight frequency, including [flights] from Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and Makassar. Therefore, I hope the guests can go to Mandalika Circuit to watch MotoGP 2022 with ease,” Hadi remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (DH/EP)
