President Jokowi Inspects Market, Infrastructure Projects in East Nusa Tenggara Province

On the third day of his working visit to East Nusa Tenggara province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (12/6) visited Oebobo Market in Kupang city.

The President is also slated to carry out tree planting ceremony with communities, and visit Public Vocational High School (SMKN) 5 of Kupang to inspect the facilities and learning activities at the school.

President Jokowi will also inspect rice supply and distribute food aid from the government rice reserves (CBP) to beneficiary families at the Bulog Baru Tenau Warehouse.

During his visit to Kupang, the President will also inaugurate a number of infrastructure projects, namely the Central General Hospital (RSUP) dr. Ben Mboi, Drinking Water Supply System, and Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Kupang.

At Oebobo Market, Kupang city, President Jokowi was welcomed by the people of Kupang in the market. Upon arrival, the President immediately approached the street vendors and distributed assistance and staple food. The President also had a dialogue with market traders.

In her statement, Evilia, an onion and chili seller, said that the price of the staple foods were relatively affordable, adding that the price of chilies was Rp60,000 per kilogram and the price of shallot was Rp20,000 per kilogram.

In the meantime, Urgenes, an egg seller, said that the price of egg at Oebobo Market was also relatively stable. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (RI/MMB)
