President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (14/06/2021) inspected mass COVID-19 vaccination at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java.

“The vaccination is held in a football stadium which can cover a large number of recipients, including persons with disabilities and public servants. We hope that the way vaccination is organized in Bekasi can be emulated in other cities and regencies, so that vaccination can be provided for a large number of recipients,” the President said in a press conference after the inspection.

The President expressed hope that the mass vaccination carried out by the Government can help the country to achieve herd immunity immediately.

On the occasion, the President also had a dialogue via videoconference with a number of the vaccination organizers in other places in Bekasi.

Nurdin from the Mustika Jaya Community Health Center told the President that 250 recipients got vaccinated today in the Health Center.

“We provide vaccination for about 100-200 people every day. To date, we have vaccinated 4,750 people in our area, which is 30 percent of our total population,” Nurdin said.

In the meantime, a vaccination organizer from Mitra Keluarga Hospital, East Bekasi, reported that today the hospital provides vaccination for public servants with the recipients of approximately 100 people. (SLN/UN) (RI/MUR)
