President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (1/3) inspected mass COVID-19 vaccination for market traders at Beringharjo Market, and for street vendors as well as informal workers in the Malioboro area, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).

Besides Beringharjo Market, the President also inspected the vaccination at the Fort Vredeburg Museum  which was aired live on the YouTube channel of Presidential Secretariat.  He arrived at the Museum at 9.30 a.m. and inspected the vaccination process. During the inspection, the President greeted and engaged in conversation with vaccine recipients.

“I saw that the vaccination process for market traders at Beringharjo Market ran well. The vaccination for street vendors, business players, shopkeepers, informal workers in the Malioboro area up to the town square (alun-alun) also ran well,” the President said.

The President went on to say that this mass vaccination aims to vaccinate 19,900 people. Through the vaccination, the economy in Yogyakarta is expected to recover and revive.

“We hope that this (the vaccination program) will be completed immediately so that the economy can recover and revive. The tourism and economy in Yogyakarta Province are also expected to revive, especially in Yogyakarta City,” the President said. (TGH/UN) (RIF/MMB)
