President Jokowi Inspects National Collaborative Vaccination Drive for Students in W. Java, Banten

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Saturday (28/8) inspected the national collaborative vaccination drive for students aged 12 to 18 years old targeting around 1,250 recipients held at Cappelen Park, Bogor Botanical Gardens, West Java Province.

The vaccination drive was also held simultaneously in other areas with a total of 16,279 recipients, comprising of 14,429 students in West Java Province and 1,850 students in Banten Province.

On that occasion, the President engaged in a dialogue with several representatives from West Java and Banten Provinces via video conference.

For the record, the vaccination locations include Cirebon City, Tasikmalaya City, Cilegon City, and Garut Regency.

During the conversation, the President questioned the total vaccination recipients and the adequacy of vaccine stocks available in each area. The Head of State also urged that the vaccination drive can be carried out continuously to achieve herd immunity as soon as possible.

“Good job, carry on. The vaccination should be completed to reach herd immunity immediately. If vaccine shortage occurs, please report it to the governor or directly report to the Minister so that the vaccination can be completed quickly,” the President said.

In addition, during video conference the President also asked about the availability of self-isolation centers and Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in those areas. (Presidential Secretariat Press Bureau/UN) (RIF/MMB)
