President Joko Jokowi Widodo on Monday (14/1) inspected implementation of the Online Single Submission (OSS) system at the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta.
The OSS service – which was previously provided by Coordinating Ministry for the Economy – is now provided by the BKPM. The OSS system is provided at the One-Stop Service (PTSP) service counter.
According to the President, he wanted to ensure that smooth implementation of the system that can provide fast services for investment permits online through a simplified system. According to several investors who came here, the process is fast, President Jokowi said.
In practice, the President continued, the BKPM has set a two-hour limit as the maximum time to process the initial permits.
Investment can begin immediately once the entrepreneurial number and business permits have been issued, President Jokowi said, adding that investors still have one month to process other permits, such as location permit, environmental permit, and building construction permit (IMB).
President Jokowi added that speed in permit issuance is important and the next challenge is to integrate 514 regencies/municipalities and 34 provinces to comply with the BKPM standard.
At the end of this month, we will gather governors, regents, and mayors to synchronize and integrate the system since all regions already have the PTSP, President Jokowi said. (FID/OJI/ES)
