President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (10/25) inspected the ongoing learning process at state vocational high school SMK 5 Padang, in Padang city, West Sumatra province.

According to the President, the students’ skills and expertise have seen significant improvements through practical learning programs implemented at vocational schools.

“Whenever I have a working visit scheduled, I ensure to allocate time for visiting one or two schools, especially vocational schools where practical skills are truly developed,” the President said.

The President went on to say that SMK 5 Padang’s educational program is well-equipped with facilities and infrastructure, and there is room for improvement by adding more practical resources to enhance students’ skills.

“I noticed that it needs more workshop stations for student training. We will offer support to expand the training area, particularly for improving students’ skills related to cars and motorcycles,” he said.

On that occasion, the President expressed appreciation for the school’s learning program, which offers students the opportunity to further enhance their skills, as these skills are currently in high demand in the industrial sector.

“I was informed earlier that some of the students are provided with up to four opportunities to practice their skills, and I think that’s great,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RIF/MMB)
