President Jokowi Inspects Presidential Office Construction at Nusantara Capital

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (09/22) inspected the construction progress of the Presidential Office located in the Nusantara Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan province.

Arriving at around 07.55 Central Indonesia Time, the President then headed to the top floor of the building. The President also symbolically installed the first pillar of the Garuda construction, which will become the icon of the Presidential Office building.

In his statement after the inspection, the President said that the progress of the construction of the Presidential Office was good and had reached 38 percent.

The President also said that the construction of infrastructure projects in the IKN was in line with the plan.

In the meantime, Director General of Housing Infrastructure Diana Kusumastuti reaffirmed that in September 2023, the progress of the construction of the Presidential Office had reached 38 percent.

Diana stated that the installation of Garuda construction, with a total of 4,650 pillars, is expected to be completed by March 2024.

Once completed, the Garuda, which will become the icon of the building, will have a wingspan of 177 meters and a height of 77 meters.

“The length of the wing from end to end is 177 meters, the length from the curve is around 239 meters, and the height is 77 meters,” Diana said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RI/MMB)
