President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected rice reserves at the Bulog GBB Umbul Tengah warehouse, Serang city, Banten province, on Monday (01/08).

President Jokowi also handed over food assistance from government food reserves (CBP) to a number of beneficiaries.

When talking to the public, the President said that he wanted to ensure that the beneficiaries have received food assistance of 10 kilograms of rice every month. A number of beneficiaries explained that they started receiving assistance in January 2024.

“The assistance was initially started in September, October, November, December, but then there were new registrants so they started to receive it in January,” he added.

The President also said that the beneficiaries will receive assistance until March 2024. However, if the state budget conditions were deemed sufficient, the Government will continue similar assistance until June 2024.

Therefore, the President emphasized that the Government will try to calculate the state budget as well as possible so that the assistance can be continued until June 2024.

“The Government will try (to calculate it well) so that it can be continued in April, May, June,” he said. (BPMI/AIT) (EST/LW)
