In a bid to ensure availability of staple food, especially rice during the emergency public activity restrictions (Emergency PPKM), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected the State Logistics Agency’s (Bulog) warehouse in North Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/07/2021).

The Head of State arrived the warehouse at 9.00 am Western Indonesian Time and was accompanied by Bulog President Director Budi Waseso.

“I want to ensure that the national rice stock is sufficient. Earlier, Bulog President Director said that the stock reached 1,373,000 tons of rice,” the President said after inspecting the warehouse.

Today’s inspection also aims to check and control the Bulog’s readiness to distribute rice assistance from the Government to people affected by the implementation of the Emergency PPKM.

For the record, each recipient of the Cash Social Assistance (BST) and Family Hope Program (PKH) will receive an additional assistance of 10 kilograms of rice, which has been distributed since Friday (16/07/2021).

“We hope that the rice assistance can help the people amid the Emergency PPKM. In addition to the rice assistance, there are also assistances in the forms of electricity subsidy, BST, village funds direct cash assistance, internet quota subsidy, PKH, and others,” the President remarked.
