On the second day in Jambi province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo visited State Logistics Agency (Bulog)’s Warehouse Complex in Manggis subdistrict, Bungo regency, to inspect the rice stock, Thursday (04/04). During the visit, President Jokowi had conversations with the beneficiaries and greeted them enthusiastically.

President Jokowi also stated the Government’s commitments to the people’s welfare, and one of them is through food assistance, such as rice.

“This is the fourth time, the next distribution will be carried out next month until June,” President Jokowi said, adding that it may be carried out until December if the State Budget is feasible.

Meanwhile, Khoirul Anwar, one of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation on the rice aid. He said that the aid was really helpful due to the increasing rice price.

“It really helps since the rice price is highly rising, so the aid is helpful. This has been the fourth time, Alhamdulillah, it really helps,” Khoirul Anwar said.

Similarly, Asmirawati, another beneficiary, felt happy because she could use her rice budget for other essentials.

“The rice price at the market is getting higher, I cannot afford it. Now, since I have received the rice aid, I feel grateful, alhamdulillah, I do not need to buy rice for now,” Asmirawati said. She expressed hope that the rice aid can be distributed continuously because it is very useful for her and other people.
