President Jokowi Inspects Security Routine for Inauguration of President-, VP-elect

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attended Ceremony of Security Preparation for the Inauguration of President and Vice President 2024 at the Headquarters of the Indonesian National Police Mobile Brigade Corps Command (Mako Brimob Polri) Kelapa Dua, Depok city, on Monday (10/14).

Upon the President’s arrival, he was greeted by Minister for Defense Prabowo Subianto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto.

After receiving the salute from the honorary ranks, President Jokowi was escorted to the podium of honor aboard Maung tactical vehicle. The ceremony began with the reverberation of the national anthem Indonesia Raya. Afterward, the President accompanied by the Chief of the Indonesian National Police went to the ceremony podium and received the grand salute.

“Reporting, Ceremony of Security Preparation for the Inauguration of President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia and the awarding of honors are ready to begin,” said the Ceremony Commander in his report.

On this occasion, the President received an honorary medal of public security and safety “Loka Praja Samrakshana” and an honorary citizen award from the Indonesian Police Mobile Brigade Corps.

The Chief of the Indonesian National Police directly presented the award for the President’s extraordinary services to the development and progress of the Indonesian National Police in providing protection, patronage, and service as well as law enforcement for the security of the community, nation, and state.

Furthermore, the President awarded the Nugraha Sakanti honorary medal to seven Indonesian National Police work units based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 138/TK of 2024 on the awarding of the Nugraha Sakanti honorary medal. The decree was stipulated in Jakarta, on October 14, 2024.

The honorary award was given to Indonesian National Police’s units, namely the Indonesian National Police Mobile Brigade Corps, Criminal Investigation Unit, Security Maintenance Agency, Traffic Corps Team, International Relations Division, Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88), and the Medical and Health Center.

For the record, Nugraha Sakanti is an honorary award given to Indonesian National Police’s units that have made great contributions to the nation and state. (FID/DNS)(AW/MUR)
