President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (09/15) inspected social assistance distribution at Dobo Post Office in Aru Islands regency, Maluku province.

According to the President, the Government has disbursed direct cash assistance for fuel oil (BLT BBM) to beneficiaries in 461 regencies/cities across the country.

“As of today, the Government has disbursed BLT BBM to 8,179,000 [people] in 461 regencies and cities. The number has increased from 431 to 461 now. The progress is rapid,” he said while expressing hope that the speed of the cash assistance distribution will positively impact the people’s purchasing power and eventually keep the national economy stable.

“We hope that with the speed of the BLT BBM distribution, the people’s purchasing power, the people’s consumption rate does not decrease,” he said.

In addition to BLT BBM, the President also distributed other social assistances, including staple food and direct cash assistance for Family Hope Program (PKH) beneficiaries. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (DH/MUR)
