President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo visited a traditional market to check the prices of groceries on Friday (17/03/2023). This time, the President visited the Tabalong Traditional Market in South Kalimantan.

In his statement after the inspection, the President revealed that the prices of food commodities at the Tabalong Market were relatively stable ahead of fasting month Ramadan.

“So, we checked the prices, I think everything is in good condition. Earlier, the chili and red onion prices were good, we see that all prices are good ahead of Ramadan,” said the President.

Responding to media questions about his impression of visiting Tabalong for the first time, President Jokowi said that Tabalong has friendly people and is a good city.

“The people are friendly, and the city, as a regency in South Kalimantan, is also good,” he said.

The President also expressed hope that the presence of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) will encourage the emergence of new economic growth points around it, including in Tabalong.

“We hope that once the IKN is completed, it can foster new economic growth points around the IKN, including in Tabalong,” he added.

During the inspection, the President also handed out aid to market traders. Accompanying the President were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. (TGH/UN) (AS/MUR)
