Kicking off his second day of working visit to Central Java province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (01/23), accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, inspected the Surakarta-Gemolong (Sragen)-Purwodadi road section in Ngandul Village, Sragen regency.

This road section is part of the regional road maintenance project based on Presidential Instruction of 2023 on Regional Roads.

“I want to see the completion of all the roads we are working on in accordance with the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD), with a budget of Rp14.6 trillion for 2023,” the President said.

The President added that Rp1.3 trillion of the total budget is allocated to repair around 40 roads in Central Java province. Meanwhile, Rp204 billion is allocated for Sragen regency to construct three roads.

The President also stated that the Surakarta-Purwodadi road section has the most severe damage due to the dynamic nature of the soil.

“So, we build this road at a far greater cost. The Solo-Purwodadi road uses rigid concrete, so the cost is high and we hope it will last longer,” the President said.

The President also said that the Government has budgeted Rp15 trillion for this project in 2024. However, the realization of the policy is still in the planning stage.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/MMB)
