In a series of working visits to the Special Region of Yogyakarta, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo also inspected COVID-19 vaccination for students at State Special Needs School (SLB) 1 Bantul, Bantul Regency.

“This morning, I inspected the vaccinations for approximately 375 SLB students, which we hope (the vaccine) can provide a maximum protection to SLB students,” President Jokowi remarked on the site, Friday (10/09).

The Head of State further said that the vaccination drive for students is the Government’s effort to expand vaccination coverage to control the spread of COVID-19 which is impossible to disappear completely.

“Therefore, we must start preparing for the transition from pandemic to endemic and also start learning to live with COVID-19,” the President said.

In addition, President Jokowi urged the public not to be overly euphoric despite a decline in COVID-19 cases in the country as well as to remain vigilant and disciplined in implementing health protocols.

“We all have to be aware that COVID-19 is always stalking us, thus we need to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, especially wearing masks,” he added. (TGH/UN) (GWH/MUR)
