President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (10/03) inspected COVID-19 vaccination site for religious leaders and Islamic student (santri) at the Convention Hall of Central Jawa Great Mosque in Central Java provincial capital of Semarang.

On that occasion, the President expressed gratitude that this vaccination event for religious leaders and santri went well.

The target recipients were about 1.000 people.

“Everything, both the management and the process, is going well. And we hope that those who have been vaccinated can be protected from COVID-19 infection and their religious activities could run normally as before,” the President said, while expressing hope that other COVID-19 mass vaccination events can be followed by other provinces.

The President also urged other provincial governments to encourage and invite religious leaders and santri to get vaccinated.

“COVID-19 vaccination will build a herd immunity or community immunity. We hope that transmission rate of COVID-19 in Indonesia will decrease and stop,” the President added. (TGH/UN) (AP/EP)
